The Dell Multifunction Monochrome Laser Printer 1125 is a reasonably priced printer with plenty of impressive features. The Dell 1125 has copier, scanner and fax function separately for your computer and also has an incorporated automatic document feeder.
Cons
The Dell Multifunction Monochrome Laser Printer 1125 offers really poor graphic prints even for the very light presentations. The printer also has got a few designing issues and comes with low-yield toner cartridge.
Introduction
The Dell 1125 is among the very few printers who actually can be said as jack-of-all-trades. Our Dell Multifunction Monochrome Laser Printer 1125 actually is a black-and-white laser printer which at the same time can fax, copy and scan. Just as all the other multifunction mono-laser printers the Dell 1125 also targets the small-business users as its potential consumers. The small business owners who needs versatility and efficiency for their prints and hence they always looks for all-in-one printers which can prints documents at decent pace. And with the Dell 1125 offering 600 x 600 dpi printing, having an internal separate fax machine, a 24-bit color scanner and a 30-page automatic document feeder.
But the poor graphic print quality, pitiful low page-output toner with the printer are really disappointing, but then you actually cant complaint much about it as the printer is priced at $199. Although the print speed and features of the printer is really decent and are pretty much what we’ve seen into the Canon ImageClass MF4270, but the Dell 1125 doesn’t have the auto-duplexing and network compatibility, which comes handy in the midsize business environments. Nevertheless, if you are in the market looking for a printer for primarily printing text with very little or no graphics for your small business then you definitely will be satisfied with Dell 1125 both in terms of functionality and price.

Design
Measuring 14.8 x 16.3 x 17.5 inches (H x W x D), the Dell 1125 is decently sized printer. The paper tray for the printer is a bit annoying as it sticks out clumsily out of the base and you actually can’t conceal or adjust it. Apart from this, the cover of the printer doesn’t bolts onto the base instead; it simply lies flat there and becomes a real irritation when you have to refill the paper tray. We would have appreciated a buried paper tray which slides right into the machine and gets out of the way.
As a matter of fact, we had plethora of design related issue in Dell 1125, and apart from the paper tray, one another noteworthy issue was the LCD display whose angle can’t be adjusted and hence you will have to position the printer straight under your eye or else you wont be able to view the buttons on the screen. The next issue is the paper corral which sticks out from the centre of printer where the printed papers are collected, and you will have to use this because if you don’t the print will fall down. One another problem with the coral is that it is made of flimsy plastic and randomly fits into the body. Even a slight blow to this tray will damage it. Dell easily can improve the overall design of the printer by repositioning both the input and output tray.

Performance
The Dell 1125 offers great performance in terms of speed, especially in comparison to other four printers like the Lexmark E250dn, the Samsung SCX-4200, the abovementioned Canon ImageClass MF4270 and the Oki B2520. In our lad testing for speed the Dell 1125 defeated all but the Canon ImageClass in black text prints, presentation prints, image/text copies and grayscale scans. Making it even better for Dell 1125 is the print quality which compliments the speed very well especially the black print quality is really well. The presentations printed on it were also of decent quality.

The Dell 1125 comes with complete one year warranty from Dell, comprising of 24*7 toll-free telephonic supports from technical experts. You also get the Advanced Exchange Service which replaces the machine. If you want a little extra protection then also you can purchase it.
Word from the Experts
Apart from minor or negligible flaws here and there we like the Dell 1125 and its reasonable price makes it even more lucrative offer. If you want a text specific all-in-one printer for you then this Dell 1125 is a nice option to consider.
