The Canon ImageClass MP4690 comes loaded with all the accouterments of a superb quality small office printer. This multifunction laser printer offers plenty of catchy features for small work groups, like the printer is network-ready and is affordably priced at $400. Unluckily for Canon, the Dell 1815dn comes loaded with the same amount of features and offers prints at decent pace, for the very same price tag of $400. Though, the Canon MF4690 has one thing working in its favor, and it’s the ability of the printer to scan documents on to a file server on the network. If that feature is more important for you than the speed of Dell 1815dn, then go for the Canon MF4690, or else the Dell 1815dn is a lot better option.

If you are looking for a printer for you light home or office printing needs, and which should be affordable as well, then the HP OfficeJet J5780 is a nice option to consider. It’s an affordable multifunction inkjet printer. Though, the absence of an Ethernet jack, limits the use of OfficeJet J5780 in larger networked offices, whilst the absence of media card slots restricts its appeal for casual home printing use. The printer comes with the perfect blend of features for a home office like fax, scan, print and copy, and to make it even more tempting there is the $150 price tag of the printer.
As far as the print speed and quality is concerned, the OfficeJet J5780 is neither too bad, nor exceptional. As a matter of fact we think that the home office users will be more than satisfied with [...]

The Dell 1720dn is an affordably priced mono laser printer with the capability of delivering high-quality prints at decent speed. The mono laser printer is intended for small offices and workgroups and will meet their requirements perfectly. At $300, the 1720dn gets you Ethernet networking, built-in duplexer and most importantly low print costs. We got the same print quality from the Samsung ML-3051ND priced at $350 and offering quicker text prints and a little slower graphics prints, a straight pass-through and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray.
If you think that all these extras are worth spending $50 more, then go for it. Else, the Dell 1720dn is just the perfect option for its targeted audiences. Especially if the networking and duplex printing are not among your high priorities, then the [...]

Ok, this might sound a bit weird but Yahoo and HP are coming together to give you targeted ads on HPs printers which are connected to the Web. The ads would appear on your scheduled delivery prints like when you print portions of magazines or newspapers every morning. HP is trying to make the ads targeted which means the ads which means the company will do some research regarding your preferences and give ads based on that. The printers would be employing IP sniffing for pinning down your location. HP also said that the content would be based on your behavior on the internet. We know what you are thinking about – privacy right? Well, HP says that they will be keeping all the information strictly confidential, but I guess some of you might not be convinced about this at all.
So what do [...]

The Canon PIXMA iP1800 is the successor of Pixma iP1700 and a photo oriented, entry-level, single-function printer. Put another $50 and you could get a basic inkjet printer, which can print decent quality photos and documents. Though, the iP1800 doesn’t have the photo oriented features such as a PictBridge port and the media card readers, but the printer doesn’t comes with a broad easy-to-use software bundle which can easily help you create your photo projects.
Considering the price of the printer, the omission of PictBridge port and the media card readers was not surprising for us, and we actually think that the iP1800 is a decent printer for basic home users who are on a tight budget. We also like the print quality here, it was clearly better than a lot of its low-cost competitions, [...]

The Kodak EasyShare 5300 is an all-in-one desktop printer from Kodak. But this all-in-one desktop has come after a long period of gap by Kodak from the desktop printer space, but now that Kodak has returned it’s offering three photo all-in-one models. The EasyShare 5300, we are talking about here is the middle child of three, Priced at $200 the All-in-One EasyShare 5300 offers scan, print, photo, print and copy functions in a user friendly device.
While the printer offers the basics, it actually lacks plenty of other features that we’ve seen on some of the other $200 all-in-one printers, such as the individual ink tanks, the ability of making copies on photo paper, that too in a standalone mode and the ability of editing and enhancing photos in separate mode. Though, the good news here [...]

The Canon PIXMA iP90v is the revamped variant of Canon Pixma iP90 launched in the year 2007. The all new iP90v has a strange drop in photo print speed and support offered by Windows Vista, but apart from it the printer is pretty much the same. Even the cost of the printer is the same $428.99 of its older model. So, if you already have an iP90, don’t bother upgrading.
Even if you don’t have a portable printer and are looking for one, consider whether you need this one or not, because, this printer surely is not cheaper, particularly with its add-ons. But, if what you need is a petite inkjet printer, than you definitely will be pleased to see the print speed and quality of Pixma iP90v. The closes competition of Canon iP90v in the very same genre is the HP DeskJet 460 series.

The Brother HL-4040cn is a reasonably priced single-function laser printer intended for small work groups and offices. Priced at $400 the HL-4040cn is a network ready printer that offers some really handy features, like secure print and reprint. In addition to all this the printer delivers really great quality print as well.
The negative point of the printer is its slow print speeds in comparison to the competition. But still we think that the printer has more positives than negatives. On a whole the HL-4040cn is a commercial printer ideally suited for small work groups and offices with really moderate printing needs.
Design
The Brother HL-4040cn is a standard-looking boxy color laser printer. The printer comes in navy-and-gray color combination and measures [...]

The Samsung CLX-3160FN is a comparatively bigger all-in-one color laser printer intended for small work groups and offices. Priced at $600 the CLX-3160FN is a network ready printer that offers expected set of features plus decent quality scan/print quality. A lot of tasks performed by the printer (especially the graphic printing) are pretty slow than most of its contenders. So if what you are looking or is a fast printer then its better that you go for the Epson AcuLaser CX11NF, and if you need quality output prints then consider the HP Color LaserJet CM1017 MFP. Though, the Samsung CLX-3160FN neither is the fastest printer, nor does it offers the best quality prints, but still, with its appealing blend of performance, features and price the printer becomes a decent option to consider. So if [...]

The HP Photosmart C4280 is an entry-level low-cost photo all-in-one printer which offers pretty basic features, average print quality and changeable task speeds. The one thing that we didn’t like about the printer was the fact that it has limited set of features, even for a $100 printer; we’ve seen broader feature set in some of the other similarly priced all-in-one printers. For the very same price of $100, you can get an all-in-one printer that offers better feature set and even faster task speeds. This is why we liked the Canon Pixma MP460 more, even though it was priced $30 more, it offers you more bang for your back.
Design
The HP Photosmart C4280 has a minimalist design. The printer swathed in white-and-gray body has a boxy structure measuring 11.4 inches deep by 17.1 [...]

The Lexmark Z1420 is an affordable, basic inkjet printer designed for home users who actually needs only occasional prints here and there. Priced at $80, the key feature for Z1420 is its ability to print wirelessly out of the box; especially considering the fact that it’s an entry-level inkjet printer, that quality is really amazing. It also is a boon for the homes and small workgroups for multiple users. One another thing that we particularly liked in the printer is its ability to deliver fast print speed. But like all the other printers of its price range, the speed here also doesn’t come without any cost, and the print quality is the cost you pay for the speed.
The Lexmark Z1420 is just the perfect printer for the people who desperately needs a printer with wireless capability and [...]

Priced at $100 the Dell Photo All-in-One Printer 926 is a pretty affordable inkjet multifunction printer, which offers copy, print, e-fax and scan features. Seeing at the price we already were not expecting a lot from the printer, at least in terms of print quality and print speed. But the worst thing is that the printer even failed to match even our average expectations. Unexpectedly, even using Dell’s very own photo ink tanks and photo paper, the printer delivered really poor photo quality. On the contrary, if you look at Canon Pixma MP180, you will see that it’s possible to get decent quality prints even from a $100 multifunction. And if you don’t have problem, in putting just a little extra weight on your budget, you should get Canon Pixma MP460 priced at $130, it will make you even [...]
