The single function printers these days are like an archaic relic, especially when you see so many color inkjet multi-function printers fighting to secure their place on the office superstores’ shelves. This is why sometimes we even forget the modest, single-function printer. But still there are consumers in the market that wants to keep things straight and simple and doesn’t have the need of copy, fax or scan.
One such printer is the Lexmark Z1300. You can consider it as a rarity. But whatever you consider the Z1300, the truth is that the printer having a stunted price tag of $25 is the least expensive printer in market (at least that is what our research says). Even HP’s inkjet printer the DeskJet D2430 costs around $40.
So considering the low price of Z1300 we kept our expectations [...]

The Lexmark X2500 Color All-in-One printer is one another proof that Lexmark is trying to corner the average printer market. Earlier we’ve seen Lexmark Z1300, priced at $25, it was the cheapest single-function printer that we've seen till now, and now we have the X2500, which up to now is the cheapest Color all-in-one printer we’ve seen till date.
The X2500 is priced at $60, and is still $30 less than Canon's Pixma MP160 and $20 less than HP's DeskJet F380. Considering all the aforementioned things, we actually weren’t expecting a lot from the $60 multifunction printer, but it shocked us with its surprisingly fast task speeds and in general well-mannered task quality. So on a whole this all-in-one printer is well matched for the casual home users who requires printers just in case [...]

The Lexmark X3550 is a reasonably priced all-in-one inkjet printer for the casual home printers who wants a reasonably priced multifunction printer on hand for occasional printing tasks. The X3550 is priced at $80 and is capable of printing, scanning, copying and e-faxing, and won’t ask you to go to the poorhouse for ink change. The thing to keep in mind is that it’s only a USB-only printer and if you want wireless printing then you’ll have spends another $50 for the wireless card to get wireless printing over your home network.
The feature set and performance matches the price and are rather standard, but not exceptionally impressive. This printer will meet most of your printing, scanning and copying needs; although if you are looking for a printer that can meet your requirement of [...]

The HP LaserJet 1020 is intended for home users. It becomes apparent with the fact that this monochrome laser printer is immensely inexpensive and can handle very light printing tasks. Though, the printer might be for the home users with light printing needs, and it might not deliver stellar speed and quality, but with a priced tag of $180 hanging around its neck, you can’t complain a lot about the printer. The printer still manages to do a serviceable job for you. However, if you can spare an additional $20, you can get the Lexmark E250d that comes with a duplexer, and the Samsung ML-2571N, which is network-ready. The print quality offered by both the printer is also pretty decent.

Take the functionality of Canon Pixma MX7600, add the inconspicuous design of Canon Pixma MX330 and put some modern features such as the en suite Wi-Fi, the end result you get is the printer we are talking about here. It’s the Canon Pixma MX870. The Pixma MX870 maintains all the essential features you need to print, fax, scan and copy, apart from all this the printer also offers wireless networking. Though the might give minor output speed hiccups eventually, but still we think that the Canon Pixma MX870 priced at $199 is a worth buying printer which needs a multifunctional printer at a reasonable price.
Design
The Canon Pixma MX870 has the shape that the Pixma MX860 has and measures 16.2 inches deep by 18.1 inches wide by 7.8 inches tall. The MX870 comes with ridged handles [...]

The Lexmark X500n is yet another offering from Lexmark targeting the small work groups and offices. The primary difference between the comparatively highly priced Lexmark X502n and X500n is that the later doesn’t have fax, and hence is priced comparatively low at $499. The X500n is yet another tempting printer with great features and performance along with its decent feature set. The best thing that we liked about the printer is its speed and we must admit that its one of the best ever laser printer we've tested, and the great thing about it is that its great speed doesn’t comes at the expense of print quality. The printer also is one of the highly affordable laser printer, because of its reasonable print-refill costs.

The Lexmark X502n is a color laser multifunction printer intended for small work groups and offices. Priced at $700 the Lexmark X502n prints, copies, faxes and scans, and more importantly the printer does it all at brisk pace. Though if you don’t want fax, you can save $200 and can get X500n. But its not like that the X502n is a perfect printer it also has some fax features missing, like the secure-receive mode, a junk-fax blocker and group dialing, which are important to open offices. Though if you are fine with it then you can get the X502n.
The one thing that we can say about X502n surely is that it’s the fastest laser printer we’ve tested in our lab and more importantly, you don’t have to sacrifice the quality to get its excellent speed. The X502n is also one of the highly affordable [...]

The Dell 1320c printer is an affordable option for the small work groups and businesses looking for a color laser printer. Priced at $300 the 1320c is a USB-only printer, which is slower than its rivals in black prints, but moves significantly fast on color prints.
Now its turn for that obvious “but” that you will find in most of our reviews, so here it is; “but” the printer has its own set of flaws and the print quality here clearly is not sufficient for most of the business uses. If you have to print tons of black text documents, its better that you go for the Lexmark C500n priced at $400, and if you need a better balance of print speed and color and black, then try the C3400n priced at $400 Oki. The Oki’s print quality is a tad better than Dell's quality as [...]

The HP OfficeJet Pro K850 is a single-function printer, which is comparatively expensive and fills the small position in professional settings. Priced at $400 the Photosmart A626 color inkjet printer can handle medium-format media, but it makes use of basic four-color printing instead of the six-color printing for a better range of color. The printer offers decent print speed and quality to most of the small-scale marketing needs, but if you are a hardcore designer and are looking for serious a printer that can print slick brochures, then this is not the device you are looking for. Even if you are in need of a network-ready printer, the K850dn priced $100 more than this should be your choice instead.
If you are looking for a printer for you medium size office, then too you should go for [...]

The HP Photosmart C5280 multifunction printer priced at $150 is a bargain of an inkjet multifunction. The task speeds of C5280 might not be exceptional, but definitely are acceptable for the average home users. The printer is a much better option for graphics and photo printing instead of text printing. So if you are in need of printing a lot of high-quality text, then the best way is to go for some another printer. The photo-printing feature of the printer is rather well fleshed out, though there are certain menu organization of the printer that actually doesn’t makes any sense.
In addition, the C5280 has really efficient CD/DVD print feature, which is easy to use and delivered great print quality. Though a tad expensive Canon Pixma MP600 gives comparatively faster speeds and slightly [...]

The Lexmark X4550 all-in-one printer is the high end variant of X3550, which we reviewed recently. Both the printers have the same design and feature set, with the only exception of X4550’s wireless networking that comes for extra $50 (though the printer doesn’t have an Ethernet port to facilitate wired networking). The Lexmark X4550 also does perform much faster than the X3550, and hence as both these printers are absolutely same, we mainly will be concentrating on the performance of X4550 in this review.
On a whole the Lexmark X4550 delivers average prints and is a bit slow at printing tasks, except for the text printing. The great thing about this $130 network ready printer is that this affordable machine not only is network-ready, but also comes with wireless networking standard. [...]

The Canon Pixma MP470 priced at hundred Dollar is the entry level inkjet all-in-one printer which produces great quality prints at decent print speed. Though the text prints are bit slow. The best thing here is that the Pixma MP470 delivers the best quality graphics and text prints among the entire $100 multi-function printer we’ve tested. But then it has its own set of limitations and flaws, like you can not use the flash drive with the USB port positioned on the façade of the printer.
On a whole we like this entry-level inkjet multifunction printer and thinks you also will. The printer will be a true value for money printer for the casual home users in need of high-quality prints.

The Canon Selphy CP740 compact photo printer, priced at $100, is an entry level compact printer which comes with a very limited onboard feature set. The limited feature set of the printer are the reason behind the relative position of the printer among the dedicated 4 x 6 photo printers. But despite all this the print quality and the ease of use of printer impressed us.
The Selphy CP740 is a great out-and-out snapshot printer for the buyers who are in need of an affordable dedicated snapshot printer. But if you are looking for slightly more features and don’t have problems in paying for them, then checkout the Epson PictureMate Snap.
